With up to 300 events a year and a high-caliber line-up of sports, music, comedy, business and culture, it’s certainly one of the most versatile as well. Local soccer team FC Schalke 04’s home games enjoy huge popularity, but crowds here also go wild over international music stars such as U2, AC/DC, Metallica and Herbert Grönemeyer, and sporting events such as the Biathlon World Team Challenge and the TV Total Stock Car Crash Challenge.
